Six people sustained injuries when two vehicles were involved in an accident at the Adenta traffic light, in Accra on Wednesday.

The vehicles, a Hyundai Elantra Saloon car with registration number GR1017-15 and Kia Rio taxi, with registration GE3014-10, were said to be heading towards Adenta barrier from Madina, when the accident occurred.

An eye witness told The Ghanaian Times, that the Hyundai vehicle was moving at top speed  behind the taxi and wanted to beat the traffic light, which had started showing the yellow sign (Amber).

He said, unknowing to the driver of the saloon car, the taxi driver ahead of him had slowed down to stop only to be hit from behind.

The witness indicated that the taxi loaded with assorted household items, somersaulted several times, landed on its tyres and headed towards the Adenta lorry station, only to turn round again to face the direction of the West African Senior High School with three occupants trapped inside, while the goods in the vehicle spewed onto the road.
