500,000 Holy Bibles For SHS

Holy-Bible21The Former First Lady, Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills has urged Ghana’s high school students to premise their conduct and goal on the Holy Bible.

According to her, Ghana is confronted with inter-tribal disputes, poverty, and many dreadful diseases and the only remedy for solving them is practicing the teachings and stipulations of the Bible.
The Former First Lady stated this at the launch of the ‘Ghana First Lady Senior High School Students Bible’ project at Aburi, recently.

The project is her own initiative and it is being executed in partnership with the Scripture Union (SU), and the Tyndale House Publishers, USA. It is to be rolled out across the country’s second cycle schools and its target distribute 500,000 Bibles, worth GH¢10 million.

Mrs.Naadu Mills intimated that devoting one’s self to the study and living of the word of God helps one to be wise and prepared to serve one’s family, the nation and humanity in general.
She noted that the Bible instructs young people to be responsible for their spirituality, and revealed that her encounter with the Bible made her who she is today.

“I urge you to read, and meditate on the Bible, for in it lies your future”, she admonished them.
The Vice President, Mr Kwesi Bekoe Amisah-Arthur advised the students to practice what the Bible teaches and inspire to be great leaders as others before them.

Mr. Kwame Adu, the General Director of the Scripture Union, commended the Former First Lady for availing herself to be used by God to reach out to the future leaders with the word of God, and pleaded with all to support her national development.

The Headmistress of the school Mrs.Rosemond Bampoe, thanked the Former First Lady for her gesture to the school and pledged that the students would be encouraged to read as well as make the Bible ,their best companion in life. -Collins Boateng
