kpaThe chiefs and people of Kpalime Traditional Area have launched their annual Kpalikpakpa Festival which starts from October 3 and ends on October, 9.

The festival aimed at uniting the people, will also enable the citizens to raise funds for the development of their communities.

Activities lined up for the festival, which has the theme ‘Education, key to development’, include town cleaning and tree planting, day of peace and reconciliation, prayers by all religious denominations, open forum on topical issues, candle light processing, street jams and durbar.

Launching the festival at Ho, the Volta Regional capital, Togbe Adza Wuiah Kwasi II, acting  Paramount Chief of Kpalime said unity was paramount development.

According to him, there were a lot of development problems facing the area, and the only way they could complement government’s efforts was to come together and raise funds.

He urged all citizens to participate in the programmes so that they would be able to realize their objective.

Reverend Jehoiade Banibensu (rdt), chairman for the planning committee called on all people from the traditional area to play their roles effectively for a successful event.
