4 Kasoa CP Terrors Arrested

IMG_0102Four suspected armed robbers who allegedly terrorised residents of Kasoa “CP” and its environs have been arrested by the Police in the Central Region.

The suspects, Yaw Seffa, 25, mechanic and kingpin of the group; Iddrisu Ibrahim, 19, driver; Anas Ibrahim,24, labourer and Haadi Osmanu, 22, designer; were reported to have been on the police wanted list for the past one year.

Items retrieved from them were a shotgun, a locally manufactured pistol, and a toy gun.

Their modus operandi was that the suspects snatch vehicles from their victims, tie them and put them in the boot and later abandon them at unknown places.

They also attacked others in their houses and in guest houses with weapons and made away with their valuables.

The Kasoa District Police Commander, Superintendent Samuel Tabil Punobyin, told journalists here that the suspects, had for sometime now, been terrorising  residents at Kasoa CP.

He said through police intelligence, Ibrahim was arrested at Bawjiase, near Kasoa on February 2, and he led the police to arrest the other suspects at their hideouts.

Supt Punobyin said Seffa was involved in four separate, robbery cases pending against him at the Swedru Circuit Court.

He said Seffa was granted bail in one of the cases last November by the court, adding that he went back to commit similar crimes with the group.

The Superintendent said the suspects were currently in the custody of the police assisting in  investigations.

He appealed to the Municipal Assembly, organisations and philanthropists to assist the police with motor bikes for use in combating crime in the area.

Supt Punobyin said some of the criminals used motorbikes for their operations it and was very difficult to trace them with vehicles during police operations.

“If we are able to acquire the motorbikes, they will assist the personnel to pursue them to any corner of   their hideouts,” he added. From Anita Nyarko, Kasoa
