The suspects, Paul Larbie, 47, unemployed, Asafoatse Armah,41, trader, Aziz Allotey,26, driver and Nii Aklama Tagoe, 41, were reported to have assaulted the deceased, Mahmud Issaka Baba, with sticks after which they stripped and dragged him on the floor until he became unconscious.
They were said to have accused Baba of stealing a motorbike belonging to Larbie.
A police source told The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, that on October 14, the suspect called Baba to meet them near the Oduman Clinic and immediately he arrived, they attacked and dragged him to a nearby house.
In the house, they took a lorry tyre and petrol to burn him but onlookers shouted at them to stop and they abandoned their action.
The source stated that they abandoned Baba unconscious and with various sustained various degrees of injuries as a result of the attack.
According to the Police, Baba was later rushed to the Oduman Clinic, where he died on admission.
The Police source stated that initially eight people were arrested in connection with the brutalities but investigations indicated that there was enough evidence against only the four suspects.
