4 Fight For Last Premier Slot

With two slots already taken, four Division One teams will begin the competition for the last Premier League place this weekend.

Berekum Arsenals, B.A. United, Real Tamale United, who are all former premiership sides will be joined by Wa African United in the promotion contest to the top-flight league after qualifying from their divisions in Zone I.

The Robert Mensah Stadium in Cape Coast and the Essipon Stadium in Sekondi will host their play-offs.

The winner of the three-game series will secure the third qualifying slot to play in next season’s premiership after Great Olympics and Feyenoord booked their places.

The action begins at the Robert Mensah Stadium on Saturday with Berekum Arsenals meeting B.A. United while RTU take on Wa African United in the other fixture in Sekondi.

Zone I Fixtures

Match-day-1: Saturday, July 12; Arsenals v B.A. Utd – Cape Coast and Wa African Utd v RTU – Essipon.

Match-day-2: Wednesday, July 16;B.A. Utd v RTU – Cape Coast and Arsenals v Wa African Utd – Essipon

Match-day-3: Saturday, July 19- RTU v Arsenals – Cape Coast and Wa African Utd v B.A. Utd – Essipon.

*Ms. Yetsa Tuakli, a United States of America (USA) based Ghanaian medial practitioner has been appointed onto the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Medical Committee.

Ms. Tuakli, shall serve for four years as a member of the committee, but this shall be subjected to annual ratification by the IPC Governing Body.

In a letter sent to the secretariat of the Ghana Paralympic Committee (GPC), it said, the decision was taken at the recent meeting of the IPC held in Bonn, Germany from June 21-22.

Ms. Tuakli, is a Sports Medicine and Interventional Spine Physician, with vast knowledge in nerve injuries and common orthopaedic conditions.

Her presence on the board is expected to promote disability sports in Ghana.

Bishop Cornelius Adja-Coffie, president of the Ghana Paralympic Committee (GPC) in a statement congratulated the Ghanaian for her new appointment.

He said the appointment will enhance the development and promotion of disability sports in Ghana.Allsports.com
