3rd G.T Oddoye Mem. tennis underway

The third edition of the G.T. Oddoye Memorial Junior Open tennis championship is underway at the Accra Lawn Tennis Club (ALTC).

The competition scheduled for January 1-5, boys and girls in various youth categories including Under 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age competitions.

Day one matches played yesterday recorded outstanding results in the boys U-12 encounters.

In the first match of the day, Hannif Boateng beat Daniel Adom 6-1 whilst Danzell Darkey accounted for Edmund Agbo 6-1.

In other result, Fidel Owusu defeated Joseph Adumaku 6-3 with Joshua Ayaba dispatching Abraham Kpakpo 6-4.

 

Kweku Tenkorang edged out Amos Odamten 7-5 while Alex Frimpong triumphed over Nathan Quist with a 6-4 verdict.

 

Kingsley Danso won against Daniel Larbi 6-4 while Richmond Acheampong secured a 6-1 victory against Conrod N Addo.

 

In the other duels, Samir Okai thrashed Jomor Odamten 6-1 whilst

Richmond Nyarko whipped Kenneth Adarma 6-0.

 

Raphael Dowuona also handed Bryan Lamptey a resounding 6-0 thrashing.

 

The tournament continues today, with participants in the various age categories set to compete.

 

Mr Peter Annan, the tournament coordinator, told the Times Sports over 200 children from Accra, Ashaiman, Tarkwa, Winneba and Takoradi are participating in the five-day championship.
