3 Sheep Thieves In Police Custody

Goat theftThree people are in the custody of the police for allegedly stealing six sheep at Okanta, near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

They are Kwesi Dzivor, 29, unemployed, Ali Mohammed, 24, vulcaniser, and Moses Ayensu, 29, steel bender.

The suspects, were said to have strangled the animals some of which were pregnant and  attempted selling them.

A police source told The Ghanaian Times that there had been numerous cases of stealing of domestic animals in the area.

Throwing more light on the case, the Nsawam District Police Commander, Superintendent Akwesi Kankam-Boadu, said on August 25 at about 900 a.m, police had information that the suspects were on board a Toyota Corolla with registration number GW7497-14 from Okanta to Accra with the stolen animals..

He said the car was intercepted at the Doboro Police Barrier and the suspects who were arrested, admitted to the crime during interrogation.
