3 NPP supporters die in accident

nppThree supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) died on the spot and 10 others sustained injuries when an urvan mini bus conveying them to a constituency rally was involved in an accident on Sunday.

The accident happened between Wute and Dadogboe on the Mafi Kumase-Adidome road, where the victims clad in party paraphernalia died.
The Central Tongu District Commander, ASP Eric Opata, confirmed the incident to The Ghanaian Times yesterday.

According to eye witnesses, the urvan bus tried to overtake a taxi cab and in the process skidded off the road and entered a ditch resulting in the death of the three persons.

When information got to Kpedzegblo in the Central Tongu Constituency where the rally was to take place, the joy of the supporters turned into mourning for the loss of their colleagues.

Those who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at Adidome Government Hospital where the dead have been kept at its morgue for autopsy.

The Police are investigating the cause of the incident. npp 2
