Three persons who allegedly robbed a woman of her handbag have been busted by the police at Pambros in Accra.

The suspects, Kofi Poku, Daniel Agyapong and Yaw Osei Boakye are in the custody of the police assisting in investigations.

The Accra Regional Public Relations Officer (PRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Effia Tenge disclosed this to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.

She said on February 12, at about 7:30p.m, the victim (name withheld) reported to the Gbawe-Lads Police Station with a complaint that she had been robbed of her handbag, while driving a Toyota Corolla private car from Kwashieman to Weija in Accra.

She told the police at Pambros while in traffic her attention was drawn by a young man that she had a flat back tyre and in the process two other has access to her car and picked her bag from the car which contain ATM card, driver’s licence, GH¢170 cash and two mobile phones.

She said police proceeded to the area and through intelligence reports gathered arrested Opoku.

ASP Tenge said the following day at about 2a.m police proceeded to Agbobloshie in Accra and apprehended Boakye and Daniel, adding that when they searched the stolen items were found on them.

She said the suspects would soon be arraigned.

The PRO called on the public to provide reliable information on criminal activities to the police to help address the crime wave in the society.

She assured the public of the police continuous effort in helping to reduce crime in the country for people to go about their duties without fear or favour.
