3 granted GH¢40,000 bail for stealing TV sets, cash

Three suspects were yesterday granted GH¢40,000.00 bail with a surety each by the Accra Circuit Court “9”, for allegedly stealing Television sets and cash.

 

Kofi Emmanuel Bawumia, 31, Bernard Hutchful, 30, and Richard Donkor, 32, broke into the room of a soldier, Warrant Officer (W.O.) Musah Bawa, and stole his LG Flat Screen 42 inches Television set, wrist watch and GH¢2,400.00 cash at Tuba, in the Greater Accra Region.

 

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy and stealing, and were granted bail by Mrs. Afi Agbenu Kudomor, to re-appear before the court on October 23, 2018.

 

But, the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo told the court that the police recovered a stage monitor speaker, one home theatre set, two power stabilizer machines, one Lenoveo laptop computer, and one 65 inches Sharp T.V. set with its remote control, from the houses of the accused during a search in their respective rooms at Mamprobi and Dansoman soon as they were arrested upon a tip-off

 

The police also found  one chon plasma flat screen 32 inches T.V. set, one Benq plasma 18 inches flat screen T.V. set and one Microwave oven,.

 

Chief Insp Dosoo said that the culprits admitted the offence during interrogation and mentioned Bright Twumasi as the person they sold their booty to.

 

Twumasi was also granted bail, and would appear together with Bawumia, Bernard and Richard Donkor on October 23, 2018, having pleaded not guilty.
