Mrs. Matilda Amisah -Arthur, the Second Lady, has inaugurated palm oil processing machines at Ankoane in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The palm oil processing machines would enable women in the community to apply modern technology in extracting palm oil to maximise profit and to promote good health.

The machines, which were manufactured by Gratis Foundation, were procured solely by the second lady after an appeal by Nana Oye II, Krontihemaa of Akuapem Traditional Area.

Mrs.  Amisah-Arthur advised the people to maintain the machines to give them longer life span.

She was optimistic that the introduction of modern technology to replace the traditional method of oil extraction would help the women to produce oil under hygienic conditions.

The Eastern Regional Minister, Mavis Ama Frimpong, commended the second lady for the relief she had brought to woman who were into oil extraction in the area.

She said the NDC government was committed to improving the lives of individuals in the country, hence the massive infrastructure developments.
