2012 ECOWAS Games Athletes Want Bonuses

Ghana’s contingents that took part and won medals in the 2012 ECOWAS games have not yet received their bonuses.

The athletes insist all efforts to get the Ministry of Sports to fulfil their promise have failed leaving them frustrated after all their good showing in the games.

After two years of pushing for their bonuses the athletes who spoke to sportscrusader.com said they are no longer motivated to go for events because the ministry has ignored them leaving them to their own fate.

“The Ministry has failed to pay our bonuses for the 2012 ECOWAS games. All our efforts have come to nothing.

Some of us won gold, silver and bronze but yet what is due us have not been paid” a member of the team confirmed in his statement to sportscrusader.com.

The athletes are blaming the Sports ministry for doing nothing about their petition even though they say their respective heads have consistently pushed for the bonuses to be released to them.
