An Accra District Court yesterday remanded Osman Yakubu a night watchman and  Semabia Ben, a caretaker into to prison custody in connection with the murder of their employer Mrs. Lucy Preprah Tawiah at Abelemkpe in Accra.

The deceased was a former Principal of St. Monica Training College at Asante Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

The court, presided by Mr. Isaac Addo, refused their plea for bail and remanded them until November 30.

Osman Yakubu is facing the charges of murder and attempted murder on three others, Semabia Ben is charged with abetment of crime.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Gregory Yeboah told the court that the accused worked for the deceased.

The prosecutor said on November 12, Yakubu alleged that Semabia had informed him that Mrs. Tawiah had sold him to some people an allegation Semabia had denied.

Based upon that information Yakubu armed himself with two cutlasses and went into the room of Mrs. Tawiah around 10 pm and butchered her. Two other house helps who wanted to help the deceased were also harmed by him.

The prosecutor said, Yakubu after the incident locked himself up in a room, and called Semabia on Mrs. Tawiah’s Phone, informing him that he had killed her, so he should come.

Chief Inspector Yeboah said a duplicate case docket was yet to be forwarded to the Attorney-General’s Department for advice.

He said that the victims who were injured in the process were currently on admission at the Police Hospital.
