2 Nabbed For Stealing ‘Kasapreko’

IMG_8388Two people who allegedly diverted 365 boxes of Kasapreko drinks worth GH¢35,000 have been nabbed by the Odorkor police in Accra.

The suspects, Kwame Boandoh a driver of the Elisabeth Cudjoe Enterprise and his accomplice, Eric Mensah, both 33, were said to be conveying the products  from Spintex to Bogoso in the Western Region but diverted the goods, sold them and later absconded. Boandoh is reported to have been working with the company for the past three months.

The Odorkor District Crime Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Emmanuel Osei Agbogah told The Ghanaian Times in Accra that on October 11, the complainant, Elisabeth Cudjoe reported to the police that he asked Boandoh collect 365 boxesof Kasapeko drinks from its company at Spintex in Accra and convey them to Bogoso.

Boandoh went for the products and loaded them into a Hyundai Mighty truck with registration number GR 1332-09.
He and his accomplice set off for Bogoso, but diverted the products,  reloaded them into another vehicle, abandoned the truck and absconded.
Complainant reported the case to the police after Boandoh failed to return to Bogoso.

Suspect and his accomplice were arrested at their hide out at Ashiaman near Tema. During investigations, it was revealed  they sold the products to some customers at Ashiaman. Some of them have since been retrieved.

He said the suspects would be put before court soon, for stealing DSP Agbogah advised the public, especially traders to do back ground checks before buying things being sold.  By Anita Nyarko
