The Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 25-year-old Salamatu Osman at Wromsu, near Kenyasi, in the Asutifi South District of the region.
The suspects, Emmanuel Appiah, 28, and Issifu Zakaria, 25, were picked up by the police after Salamatu was found dead in a pool of blood in a bathroom in the town.
Briefing The Ghanaian Times, Superintendent Maama Arhin, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Crime Officer said the deceased was stabbed on the neck with multiple wounds on the head.
He said Salamatu was in a love relationship with Appiah, who is a Christian but decided to break up with him after he found Zakaria,who is a Moslem, to marry.
The Regional Crime Officer said this did not go down well with Appiah who threatened her several times for her to change her mind.
According to the crime officer, on the 13th of this month, Zakaria visited Salamatu at her house where she informed him of the constant threats on her life by Appiah.
He added that Zakaria took her mobile phone with him to confirm the threat on her by Appiah.
He said Appiah called on that day to threaten Salamatu which resulted in verbal exchanges between the two guys.
The Crime Officer said on the following day, Salamatu was found dead in a pool of blood in the bathroom in the house.
The police investigation found a knife and a hammer on her in the bathroom.
He said upon interrogation the suspects have denied committing the crime and that they are being processed for court today.
