The Managing Director of Ghana Oil Company Limited, Patrick Akorli, has been crowned the Chartered Institute Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) Marketing Man of the Year at the 27th edition of the National Marketing Performance Awards held in Accra on Saturday night.
Similarly, Maidie Arkutu, Managing Director, Unilever Ghana Limited, was named the CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year.
Commenting, Mr. Akorli expressed gratitude to CIMG for recognising his efforts and called on Ghanaians to believe, work together and share ideas, if the country was to realise development.
Ms. Arkutu, on her part, dedicated the award to women across the country who occupy leadership positions and urged for support for women to achieve their potentials.
Other awards saw Shirley Acquah Harrison of Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL) and Jessie Amoah Agyapong of Millicom Ghana Limited, winning the Marketing Practitioners of the Year.
Victor Edzoryie Yeborwo , Procurement Officer at the Ga South Municipal Assembly was also named Marketing Student of the Year.
Stanbic Bank won the Marketing Oriented Company of the Year, Kasapreko Ghana Limited was named Manufacturing Company of the Year, Airline of the Year went to Ethiopian Airlines, Africa World Airlines emerged Domestic Airline of the Year, Olam Ghana Limited was recognised as the Agrobased Company of the Year while Electromax Somovisions was crowned Retail Outlet of the Year.
Other winners included Ideal Finance, which won Emerging Brand of the Year, Product of the Year went to Kasapreko’s Alomo Silver, EIB Network was named Emerging Digital Media Organisation of the Year, E-commerce of the Year was won by Zoobashop, GCGL emerged Media Organisation of the Year, Japan Motors was crowned Motor Firm of the Year, Tigo Ghana won Telecom Company of the Year while GOIL emerged Petroleum Company of the Year.
Ecobank Ghana Limited, Vanguard Assurance, Melsolm Ghana Limited, Toyota Ghana Limited, Enterprise Insurance, SIC Life, Coconut Grove Hotel-Elmina, Atwima Kwahuma Rural Bank, Best Western Premier Hotel, Omni Bank, Internet Solutions Ghana Limited, Horseman Shoes, Action Aid Ghana, Vodafone Ghana, Airtel Ghana, Star Assurance, Unilever Ghana Limited, Citi FM, Joy FM and Heel the World Shoes, all won various awards categories on the occasion.
In his address, Kojo Mattah, President, CIMG, said the awards was the modest contribution of the institute to market the country and improve on the work of professionals.
