Two girls, who went searching for sheanuts in a farm at Welembelle in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region, last Friday, were feared dead.
They are suspected drowned as a result of a heavy rainfall, which hit the community and flooded parts of the area.
But one of them, aged about 12 years old, was found dead on Saturday, when the floods receded.
According to a Tumu-based Radford FM, efforts by the residents to locate the six-year-old girl, who accompanied the deceased to the farm, did not yield any positive results.
In another development, a 32-year-old farmer, who led the search party, could not be traced.
Farmers in the area had a difficult task going home from their farms after the rain as most of the roads were rendered impassable.
