In a related development, he said the police had mounted a search for robbers who attacked passengers at Gomoa Potsin junction, on the Cape Coast-Accra highway on Thursday.

COP Awuni stated that the police received distress call around 6:30pm and dispatched a team from different locations, but the armed men, who attacked six vehicles and robbed passengers, fled before the police arrived at the scene.

He said the police had reviewed its tactics and strategies to ensure that any such incidence did not occur anywhere in the region.

COP Awuni urged the public to provide information that would lead to the arrest of the robbers, and gave the assurance that the police would provide security for all citizens.
