2 bag snatchers lynched at Abrotia

Two suspected robbers were unlucky after successfully snatching the hand bag of a lady, as they were lynched by a mob at Abrotia, in Kumasi in the afternoon of yesterday.

The two, each armed with a machete and other dangerous implements, were said to be using a motor bike during their operation in broad daylight snatching bags.

Many people were attracted to the scene and most of them, females, claimed to had been victims of the two suspects.

According to eye witnesses, one of them was wearing a band around his waist, and until it was torn off, he would not die.

As at the time of going to press, the police had collected the bodies from the scene.

The eye witnesses told The Ghanaian Times that the suspects went on a bag snatching spree at Asokwa.

At Abrotia, they succeeded in snatching a lady’s bag, but luck eluded them as they collided with a vehicle and in their attempt to escape they were confronted by the youth of the area, who had got wind of the robbery.

The suspects were said to have engaged in a fierce fight with the youth who smashed them with stones until they gave up the ghost.
