Four directors and 15 other staff of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) have been interdicted following an investigation by the Bureau for National Investigations (BNI) into some alleged financial malfea-sance.
They are Alex Odoi Nartey, Deputy Chief Executive, Finance and Investment; Gustav Cruickshank, Director of Internal Audit; Rudolf Zimmerman, Director of Financial Accounting, and Perry Nelson, Director of MIS.
The others are Joseph Annor Senior Manager of Provider Payment Directorate; Enoch Affanyi, Database Administrator; Isaac Afari, Asutifi District Manager, Edward Nkrumah, District Manager of Dormaa; Patrick Kuagbenu, District Manager of Sunyani Rafat Dawud Ali, District Manager of Jaman North; Kwaku Asare, Senior M&E Officer at the Volta Regional Office; Peter Kwasi Sarpong, District Manager of Tain; Taminu Ahmed, District Manager of Pru, and Mohammed Mahmud District Accountant at Tamale Municipal.
The rest are Abdul Rahman Abdulai, District Accountant at Asutifi; Elvis Kwadwo Baah, District Accountant, Dormaa; Daniel Beyinuu, District Accountant, Kintampo South; Yaw Simon Gokah, District Accountant, Ashaiman and Richard Denteh, District Accountant of Pru.
The management of NHIA took the decision after a formal communication from BNI.
The BNI launched an investigation into some alleged financial malfeasance at the Authority, leading to the arrest of the former Chief Executive, Sylvester Mensah, accused of making false claims.
