12 drivers died in explosion — GPRTU

Twelve members of the Greater Accra Region Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRT) are said to be among the victims of the explosion at the Goil Filling Station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Accra, last Wednesday, June 3.

Mr. Emmanuel Nii Ankrah, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman, in a statement issued and copied the Ghana News Agency, said one of the drivers had been identified as a member of the Odawna Express branch, while the 11 others, were members of the Odawna Trotro branch.

The Secretariat extended its  condolences to families who lost their relations in the explosion, especially the GPRTU members.

“We the Greater Accra Regional Executives share in the pain of all who lost their lives in the unfortunate fire incident at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and its surroundings,” the statement stressed.
