The Ashanti Police Command has arrested 12 people for allegedly attempting to forcibly seize a lorry station at Aboabo in Kumasi.
A police source briefed The Ghanaian Times that, the twelve were among some organised thugs who besieged the lorry station last week in order to take over its administration.
The suspects, according the police source, have been given police inquiry bail while investigations continue adding they would be processed for court as soon as investigations were concluded.
According to the police source, the suspects were reported by the officials of the station which led to their arrest.
Similarly, some seizures of public properties took place in the region as some five people were arrested for trying to seize a refuse dumping site at Akwatialine in Kumasi.
Again some people who claimed to be members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) seized some public toilets claiming they were acting on the orders of some executives of the party in the constituency.
Seizing of public properties like toll booths, toilets, among other public properties followed the declaration of the NPP as the winner of the just ended 2016 presidential election.
The police however have cautioned people and criminals who were hiding behind the NPP to commit these crimes to stop or else face their wrath because the police would not entertain any defiance of the law.
