11-Member Bid C’ttee Formed By Sports Min.

ThmpsnThe Ministry of Youth and Sports  is reported to have formed a strong 11-member committee that have been tasked to win for Ghana e hosting rights for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana has declared its intention to host the tournament days after the withdrawal of Libya due to rising civil unrest in their country.

The committee will be chaired by ex-board secretary of Accra Hearts of Oak Ernest Thompson according to reports .

The Director General of SSNIT, who is a lawyer by profession, will have  Abedi Pele as his deputy with other seasoned football administrators serving on the committee.

Ex-Ghana FA boss Alhaji MND Jawula who was part of the local organizing committee for Ghana 2008, the last time the nation hosted the Nations Cup will be on the committee as well as Ghana FA Vice President Fred Crentsil and Alhaji A bdulai Yakubu, Chief Director of Sports.

Randy Abbey, Herbert Mensah, CEO Petrolleum Corporation, Rex Danquah and two others complete the 11-man committee who will be sworn in to put up a solid bid to win the nation the hosting rights for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga is expected to swear in the committee with the blessing of President John Mahama after the Black Stars’ engagements in their opening qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.Ghanasoccernet.com
