One hundred and three people including four females were last month arrested by the police in various swoops in Accra for allegedly engaging in criminal activities.
The exercise was meant to clamp down on criminal activities in the region.
The week-long special operation conducted within the 40 districts and 14 divisions of the Accra Regional Police Command started September 25.
Some of the items retrieved by the police included quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, toffees laced with wee, assorted mobile phones and knives.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Accra Regional Police Commander briefing newsmen in Accra yesterday said some of the suspects were picked red-handed in possession of drug.
He said the exercise, to be ongoing, would help reduce the rate of crime in the metropolis.
He said the suspects were being screened and those found culpable would be processed for the court.
DCOP Yohuno commended all the commanders in the Accra region for ensuring the success of the operation.
