TEN of the 11people arrested over the National Security enlistment scam have been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court.
The suspects were put before court for defrauding. They were granted bail in the sum of GH¢5,000 each with one surety to be a civil servant.
They are also to report at the Accra Regional Police Command, while the case has been adjourned to December 22.
The last suspect is currently on the run, and the police have mounted a manhunt for him.
A number of ex-national security operatives were busted by the Ghana Police Service over their alleged involvement in a recruitment scam for the national security.
The Ghana Police confirmed it rounded up members of the syndicate made up of 13 people which collected between GH¢50 and GH¢150 as fees from their unsuspecting victims in Accra.
Over 325 Ghanaians fell victim to the scam, the Greater Accra Regional Police spokesperson, ASP Afia Tenge revealed.
The group was busted during one of their training sessions with the “recruits” at Taifa, a suburb of Accra.
Early this year, scores of people also fell victim to a police recruitment scam. A senior police officer, COP Patrick Timbilla, is on interdiction over the scam.
