10 drug dealers grabbed in New Juaben

Ten alleged drug dealers have been arrested in the New Juaben Municipality in Koforidua by the police in a swoop.

The suspects, including two juveniles, were picked at various locations within the municipality such as, Koforidua Zongo, Asokore, Effiduase and its environs.

A statement signed by the Deputy Eastern Regional Police Public Affairs Officer, Inspector Gideon Boateng, said a large quantity of dried leaves in black polythene bags suspected to be Indian hemp, were retrieved from the suspects.

The statement said the eight suspected adults who together with the two juveniles are currently being held in custody for the investigation.

They  are, suspect kwasi Sarpong, 21, Yawvi Otoo, 18, Agyei Emmanuel, 28, Kwabena Adjei, 26, Asante Michael, 19, Anzah Mumuni 22, Victor Chinudu, 21, a Nigerian, and Jerry Boateng ,22.

The statement said the police would send the exhibits to the Food and Drugs Authority for examination.
