One person died and two others sustained injuries in an accident at Dome, near Kwabenya in Accra yesterday.
The dead and injured, all males and yet to be identified, were on board a Toyota Corolla car from Saint John’s heading towards Kwabenya, when their vehicle veered off the road and summersaulted into a ditch.
The Achimota Mile “7” District Police Commander, Superintendent Yussif Tanko, who corroborated the story to The Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, said the police were informed about the accident and personnel were detailed to the scene.
He said investigations revealed that because the driver was speeding, the vehicle veered off the road and hit a gutter and summersaulted several times.
He said the injured persons were sent to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment, while the police took the body of the dead to Police Hospital for autopsy.
Supt. Tanko stated that the mangled vehicle had been towed to the police station while investigations continued.
