‘Ofosu Ampofo’s electronic gadgets still with police’

The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has stated that electronic gadgets seized from Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), about one month ago are still in the possession of the police.

The GPS said until ongoing investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the GPS were completed, it would be difficult to release the gadgets to Mr Ampofo.

The police took the gadgets from the NDC national chairman, to aid in investigations upon his arrest for being involved in cases of alleged kidnapping and causing damage.

Mr Ampofo was arrested in Accra on Tuesday, June 11, this year, following a court warrant after he declined an earlier invitation by the CID to help in investigations into the said cases.

He had since been granted GH¢300,000 police bail with two sureties.

A reliable source at the CID headquarters in Accra revealed to the

Ghanaian Times yesterdaythat the gadgets, including mobile phones and computer laptops have been with the forensic team of the CID, and that the team are still examining its content and other related materials.

The Ghanaian Times on June 20, 2019 issue, published that the CID had commenced investigations into the seized gadgets.
