Dumedefor re-inaugurated at Ho

ALMOST four decades after it was formed, the ambassador troupe of the E.P Church Ghana, Dumedefor, was re-inaugurated at the Dela Cathedral in Ho on Sunday with the MP for Ho Central, Mr Benjamin Kpodo as chairman of its management board.

Dumedefor is the first African music group in the country, formed in 1981 by historian, educationist and legendary composer, Presbyter Walter Komla Blege to propagate the Gospel through African music and opera.

In a chat with The Spectator after the ceremony, Mr Kpodo said that Dumedefor will now involve young people vigorously in its activities and performances to spread the word of God.

Earlier, Presbyter Blege renewed his call on the church to maintain a firm stance to protect the unique cultural identity of the black man through music and the form of worship, before the future generations become slaves to alien culture.
