The women’s fellowship of the Christian Voice Ministry, Abossey Okai, has donated an amount of GH¢1,000.00 and assorted items worth GH¢6,000 to Givers Never Lack Foundation (GNLF) at Kasoa in the Central Region last Saturday.
GNLF is a non-profit organisation focused on supporting parents with children suffering from cerebral palsy (CP), a congenital disorder of movement, muscle tone or posture due to abnormal brain development often before birth.
The items included bags of rice, gallons of oil, diapers, toiletries, second hand clothing, sachets of drinking water, mats and cartons of beverages, among others.
The generous move formed part of activities lined up for the women’s day celebration of the church.
Making the donation to the founder of the foundation, Mr Edward Amankwah, leader of the fellowship, Mrs Elizabeth Awah stated that it behoved every Christian to be sensitive to the needs of the less privileged in the society.
She mentioned that her outfit deemed it fit to choose GNLF because of the plight mothers with CP children went through on daily basis.
“Some women whose children are suffering from CP have to stop working to enable them cater very well for their children, and this makes it very difficult for them to get money for their upkeep, especially with those whose husbands have abandoned them because of the ailment of the child or children.
“This is why we need to remember such vulnerable people and support them in whichever way we can,” she stated.
She urged persons who found themselves in such conditions to keep showing love to the children and never think of getting rid of them, adding that every child was a gift from God.
Mrs Awah assured that her outfit would keep praying and supporting such families, since that was what the Bible admonished Christians to do.
Mr Amankwah on his part expressed gratitude to the group for their support and assured that the items would be evenly distributed to the families under his foundation.
He also appealed to philanthropists, corporate organisations and the public at large to support his outfit, so that GNLF could reach out to more families.
