Gamey and Gamey Institute graduates 22 students

The Chief Executive Officer of the Gamey and Gamey Institute, Mr Austin Gamey has expressed the resolve to ensure Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) services are tailored to meet the needs of society.

According to him “the strategic trust of the Gamey and Co ADR centre was to provide critical services that meet the expectations of commerce and industry, government and non-governmental organisations and the larger society locally and internationally.”

He said this at the 20th graduation and the 21st matriculation of the Professional Masters Certificate of Appropriate Dispute Resolution (ADR) of the institute on Saturday in Accra.

In all 22 students graduated while 21 matriculated for the 2019 academic year.

He said for the ADR programme to keep pace in the advancement of the field, the Institute had entered into professional relationship with the Pulse Institute of Canada University (UVI) to build the capacity and strengthen the practice of ADR globally, adding that it would also strengthen the ADR practitioners of the Gamey and Gamey Group to develop practical tools, training and other materials.

Mr Gamey stated that the Institute was also in a discussion with the University of Virgin Islands and the University of Professional Studies on how the Pulse Africa programme could be an effective platform to introduce disciplines such as Business Development and Innovations and Consultancy in the Public Sector to enhance economic growth in Africa, the Caribbean and the Virgin Islands.

He indicated that discussions were far advanced with the National Accreditation Board on the re-branding of the ADR programme to truly reflect its professional content to enable it gain local recognition.

The CEO stated that the programme had been expanded to include land dispute, resolution, banking and finance, contracts procurement and corporate governance while the arbitration course is also been expanded to include domestic and international arbitration.

He said the institute had the latest creative and innovative Appreciative Inquiry (AI), Pulse discovery, self mediation, managerial mediation, executive mediation and technical balanced use of Med-Arbfo guide power point presentations.

Mr Gamey said the institute had trained about 400 persons with varied professionals in engineering, medicine, health, law, education, journalism, traditional authorities, communications specialist and urged other professionals to avail themselves and be seasoned mediators and arbitrators of the country.
