Arla Foods launches new product

Arla Foods Limited, a leading dairy company, has launched a new milk flavoured product under its Dano brand onto the Ghanaian market to meet the growing dairy needs of consumers.

The new product, the Dano coffee flavoured milk, an addition to existing brands – chocolate and strawberry – is to provide alternative flavours to the company’s diverse consumers.

Speaking at the launch, the Country Manager for Arla Foods Limited, the Danish-based company, Fatouma Doro said the launch of the new products was to contribute to the nutritional needs of people and promote the health of Ghanaians.

Mrs Doro advised Ghanaians to be cautious about their health and eat healthy and quality products.

She said Arla Foods, which had large farms in Europe, produced quality, nutritious and affordable dairy products due to the fact that the company had control of the value chain of its dairy products, and ensured that quality was maintained at each stage of the process until the products reaches the market for consumers.

“Arla Foods drives on four health pillars; making dairy better, inspiring good food habits and choices, championing dairy goodness and making it easier for people to live healthier lives.  Hence the initiative to provide additional dairy options for Ghanaians,” she said.

The Marketing Manager of Arla Foods Limited, Mawusi Mawuenyefia for her part  reiterated that the Dano Coffee, three-in-one brand was an addition to the existing flavoured variants (chocolate and strawberry flavours) to provide more nutritious and exciting options of dairy products.

“Being a dairy company, our flavoured products are mainly milk with an addition of natural flavours,” she said.

Ms Mawuenyefia encouraged Ghanaians to make dairy nutrition an essential part of their diet, stressing that a healthy diet “is a requirement for developing healthy citizens for building a healthy nation”.

The Marketing Manager said the new variant would be sold the same price as the existing variants.

Ms Mawuenyefia said the company had also the Mozzarella cheese and Lurpak Butter and plans were underway to introduce other dairy products onto the Ghanaian market to provide a wider and better choice of nutritious products to Ghanaian consumers.

Arla Foods Limited, with the headquarters in Denmark, entered the Ghanaian market two years ago with a good array of dairy products and under its flagship brand, the Dano, the company has milk products in the powdered and liquid forms.
